Grounds Maintenance

Grounds care will be provided by the Association for the common areas as well as the front, side and unfenced rear yards of each individual lot. Such service will also be provided for fenced rear yards provided that the gate is unlocked at the time of service. The removal and/or replacement of dead trees, shrubs, and plants (including grass) on individual lots is the responsibility of the homeowner. A summary of the care provided is below.

As there are no common water hookups, the Association encourages all residents to contribute to healthy grounds by watering both your lawn areas and adjacent common areas. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Summary of Ground Care Services Provided

Grass will be mowed every 7-10 days to a height of between 2.5 and 3.5 inches. Bags will be attached to collect all clippings.
Sidewalks and curbs will be edged 6 times during the season.
Lawns will be fertilized and will receive herbicide and grub control applications.
Weed and grass growth will be removed or killed in the cracks of sidewalks, curbs and streets.
Mulched beds will be weeded as necessary.
Shrubs and perennials will be fertilized in the spring.
Shrubs will be pruned three times during the season.
Tree branches lower than 8 feet will be pruned.
All Nellie Stevens Hollies will be pruned.
In the spring, all beds will be edged, cleaned, provided with a pre-emergent application and covered with between 2.5 and 3 inches of shredded hardwood mulch.
In late summer all beds will be re-edged and provided with a touch up of mulch.
Trees and shrubs will be provided with applications of a dormant oil in late winter and insecticides in the spring and fall.
Leaves will be removed from all turf areas and mulched beds once a month during October, November and December.
